Private sessions are available to both members and non-members of Shintokukai. This training is often highly specialized and is designed to match the specific needs and interests of the student. Sessions can take place at either the student's home, office, our main dojo in North Vancouver, or any other mutually convenient location. Very little space is required, as little as roughly 3x3 meters. Students can either wear a traditional uniform, or simply regular workout attire, whichever they prefer. Times are flexible, subject to instructor availability. Whether your motivation be professionally-based, i.e. law enforcement, corrections, security, or simply personal, these sessions are designed to provide the ultimate learning experience, with personal progress rates generally far exceeding those of public sessions. Please note that "Sport Karate" is not taught. Currently, these sessions are available for adults only. Fees vary depending upon times, frequency of sessions, etc.

All of our teaching staff:

• Are Black Belts possessing a minimum four years training experience

• Are able to perform traditional kata (forms) and demonstrate their associated martial applications

• Are trained in weapons, restraint tactics, stand-up fighting, grappling and third-party protection

• Are extensively versed in the history and traditions of the martial arts, including Japanese language and etiquette

• Are trained and mentored in the most effective teaching methods for children, teens and adults

• Are members of the International Alliance of Martial Arts Schools

• Are able to provide references upon request
